The Keo Ruug Shrine is one of the many Shrines scattered around Zelda: Breath of the Wild. The challenge that’s inside, called Fateful Stars trial, is a puzzle where you’ll have to place balls in the right places. If you get it right, you will be successful. Let’s find out more about it.
Keo Ruug Shrine: All You Need To Know
What do you get at the Keo Ruug Shrine?
Although there are no new Runes or abilities to unlock, as usual, you’ll get a Spirit Orb – one of the most useful “coins” in the game.
It is one of the many shrines in the game and an important checkpoint in the game.
Where is the Keo Ruug Shrine located?
The Keo Ruug Shrine is located within the Woodlands region, specifically within the Korok Forest. To get there, you’ll have to go through the Lost Woods, a mysterious place that will take you back to the entrance if you go in the wrong direction – unless you know the way to the Lost Woods, of course.
Once you’ve reached Korok Forest, it’s best that you activate at least this Shrine so that you can travel to this location again, especially if you’re interested in collecting the Master Sword.
Keo Ruug Shrine is located to the east near the base of the Great Deku Tree. You don’t have puzzles to solve: you just have to approach, insert the Slate and you can come back whenever you want.
Keo Ruug Shrine: How To Find The Solution for Fateful Stars
Climb the steps and read the sign to get the clue “Look to the stars for guidance. The constellations are the key.”
The puzzle components are on either side of this central staircase: rows of glowing red bins on the floor and two balls on each side that you can pick up and place on those same bins. The challenge is to place the balls in the right places so that you can proceed.
To solve the puzzle, look at the constellation on the wall at the end of each row and see how many times it appears on the far wall from the edge of the stairs.
You will notice that the first row has a constellation of three points. There are five of the same constellations on the far wall with three dots, so put the ball in the farthest bucket, which means five. (The one in front, as indicated by the number of lamps on each side means one, and so on).
To solve Shrine Keo Ruug and know the solution to Fateful Stars, the balls must be placed in the following locations, from right to left, with 5 corresponding to the back row and 1 to the front:
5, 3, 1, 2
Before you go, it’s also worth putting the following combination to get the hidden chest (the clues and location can be obtained through the newly opened door on the right) and which contains a Knight’s Claymore:
4, 2, 2, 1
The door ahead will open, giving you access to the altar and getting another Spirit Orb for your effort.
You will find this temple immediately to the right of the Deku Tree. Be the first to activate it on your first visit to Korok Forest.
The Keo Ruug Shrine solution is a thought. When you enter you see a painting in the distance with different combinations of constellations. To the left and right, you see the same constellations against the wall, with switches representing numbers next to them. This figure is indicated by the number of columns next to it.
